Volunteer Spotlight – Giving Time for a Wonderful Cause…

Sharon Richter is this issue’s Volunteer in the Spotlight. Sharon has gone above and beyond in her duties as a member of the TTC Event Committee and has truly exemplified the qualities a Foundation looks for when working with volunteers. We had a chance to catch up with Sharon this fall to learn more about her involvement with TTC and more.

My name is Sharon Richter and I learned about TTC through my friends Nicole Kalish and Jennifer Kalish Lubin. I got involved with TTC because I wanted to use some of my extra time, as I was starting my nutrition practice, to help others. My main function as a volunteer has been to help with securing items for the gala auction, raffles and gift bags.

My best memory of working with this Foundation so far has been the response I received from clients when telling them about the Foundation and how many people have been affected by Lyme disease. I hope to continue volunteering for TTC in the area of fundraising. I’d like to increase my awareness of the disease, other tick-related diseases and how my profession as a dietician may help alleviate symptoms for others.
